As a Thief in the Night

As a Thief in the Night
They strike like thieves in the dark of night,
Ignoring truth, ignoring right.
They think they've won a one-sided fight,
Despite the call to peace, so bright.

We showed restraint, we tried to guide,
Offered peace, stood dignified.
But they were blind, crossed every height,
Unmoved by reason, deaf to light.

Then wisdom stirred the silent might,
The hawks took flight in full insight.
From every edge and skyward height,
A message burned — bold and right:

"If you begin with ruthless spite,

Be warned — we end what you ignite."
